Jack in the Box
A playful 3D model created for my nephew when he was a baby.
Project Overview

This project is a 3D recreation of a classic jack-in-the-box toy, created as a special project for my nephew when he was a baby.

The model includes a spring mechanism that allows the character’s head to move. The head’s location and rotation are constrained to the spring, helping it follow the spring’s movement. The spring itself is controlled using a Shape Key and Blender’s Simple Deform modifier, allowing its shape and movement to be adjusted.

The end of the handle is parented to the handle object, keeping the components connected when the handle is moved.

This project explores Blender’s object constraints, parenting, Shape Keys, and modifiers to create a simple mechanical setup with adjustable movement.
